Yu Han is a composer, pianist, and multimedia artist for a variety of platforms. Her research focuses on music composition for interdisciplinary projects in collaboration with different art forms. Many of her works involve collaborations with musicians, choreographers and dancers, scientists, engineers, photographers, visual artists, and stage design artists. Her immersive multimedia project In Her Echo is a convergence research collaboration synthesizing humanity, mythologies, music, visual art, and technology.

During her career, Yu has been selected for many performances around the United States. Her multimedia composition The Beauty Within was selected by the PlanetScape (Tucson, Arizona) and won the won the grand prizes for Red Rock Dance Festival (St. George, Utah). Her composition Immune to love for piano and electronics was selected for the TURN UP Multimedia Festival and collaborate with NYU Music Department (New York, NY). And she received many commissions form UNLV Dance, UA Choreographic Institute, and Percussionist Gabriel Albertus, and others. As a pianist, she has performed solo and collaborative recitals to high acclaim in venues across the San Francisco, Tucson and in the Beijing, Tianjin, and Gansu, and recordings of her performances have aired on Tianjin Classical Radio in China. Also, she has scored many impressive films, animations, and documentaries, like I dream in widescreen, Outsider, and Insomnia. Her works are in multiple capacities with many different music styles, from film scoring to classical, electroacoustic, and Chinese traditional music.

Yu is currently pursuing a DMA in composition at the University of Arizona. Before moving to Tucson, she earned a M.F.A in Music Production from the Academy of Art University, and both a B.M. in piano performance and a B.A. in music education from Tianjin Normal University. Her principal teachers are Dr. Kay He, Dr. Daniel Linder, Sale, Craig, Huazhen Xie, and Dirk Eppeson.
